Over the course of her career, Līga has mastered audit work down to the details, worked with local and international ERP systems and learned what she calls the most exciting part of accounting - preparing “dry” data in a way that truly creates added value for a client’s management. Clients no longer settle for taxes simply being paid on time. They want to understand where the company stands today and what needs to happen for tomorrow to be better. The payroll team now has nine professionals, both payroll accountants and HR administration specialists. Līga describes this powerful collaboration combo very simply: “Behind every team leader is a great team. Mine are unbelievable in their motivation and knowledge.”
Līga’s team understands it is only as strong as its most junior accountant. That’s why the team is always looking for ways for everyone to try working with different clients and situations, and then share that experience within the team and beyond it. In a safe, supportive environment like this, talents emerge - people who keep learning and growing, instead of just doing mechanical tasks. As a result, motivation doesn’t have to be forced, because it grows out of trust, responsibility and the feeling that you’re valued. Looking ahead, Līga sees one more step - once per quarter, choosing a shared in-person seminar that would make it possible to meet and exchange best practices on the most effective approaches.
One thing is clear: an unmotivated leader can’t motivate a team. In moments when, as a manager, she wants to give her team even more but can’t always implement it immediately, Līga takes it as a signal to act - to put priorities in order, look for solutions and step by step drive simple improvements that can be implemented straight away.
